Product Specifications
Single
- Cryo contains fibrinogen, Factor VIII, Factor XIII, von Willebrand Factor (vWF), and fibronectin. Each unit of Cryo contains an average of 215 IU of Factor VIII and 700 mg of fibrinogen. The average volume is 24mL with the typical range between 20-25mL
- Cryo is prepared by thawing one (1) unit of plasma at 1–6°C and recovering the cold insoluble precipitate which is refrozen within one hour.
Pooled
- Pooled Cryo contains an average of 750 IU of Factor VIII and 3000 mg of fibrinogen. The average pool volume is 100ml with the typical range between 80-115 mL. The volume of the product is indicated on the label.
- Pooled Cryo contains five (5) ABO identical single Cryo units.
- CMV testing and leukoreduction are not required.
Shelf life of single and pooled Cryo is one (1) year; once thawed it should be transfused within six hours. Thawed Cryo is stored at room temperature <6 hours.
- Scheduled orders are recommended.
- Ad hoc order for Cryo and Cryo pool orders are placed in Connect.
- CMV testing and leukoreduction are not required.
- Type specific ordering is not required.
